Intra-University transfers
Students who wish to transfer from one degree program
to another on the Twin Cities campus and those who want to transfer from
University of Minnesota coordinate campuses must complete a Change
of College form.
Admission is based on successful completion of appropriate courses
and the calculation of a "technical grade point average"
(GPA) using grades in calculus, chemistry, computer science, calculus-based
physics, and calculus-based statistics. If a specific course has
been repeated, only the second grade is used in the "technical
GPA" for the purpose of admission. Applicants are usually considered for
transfer if they have completed at least the freshman-year curriculum of
the major to which they are seeking admission.
Students with course work from other colleges or universities
as well as the University of Minnesota are reviewed individually.
Additional weight is given to University course work and to the most recent
course work.
Intra-University transfer applicants must attain the GPA required
to enter IT's upper division (junior year):
