The Eighth Workshop on Continuous Advances in QCD is the latest in a series of workshops organized biannually by the William I. Fine Theoretical Physics Institute. These workshops summarize recent developments in quantum chromodynamics and gauge theories at large. Topics discussed are at the cutting edge of QCD, and include supersymmetric tools, holographic descriptions of QCD, large-N methods, heavy quarks, and others. Inaugural International Conference of the Engineering Mechanics Institute (EM08)
EM08 will provide a major forum for the exchange of information and discussion of recent developments in, and applications of, solid and fluid mechanics. 19th Annual CTS Transportation Research Conference
Researchers and practitioners from Minnesota and the Upper Midwest will share their research findings in a variety of transportation-related areas. The conference will cover all modes of transportation including highway, transit, rail, air, water, and others.
Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power (CCEFP) 2nd Annual Conference
The vision of the ERC is to create new fluid power technology that is compact and efficient. This will lead to significant fuel savings as the new technologies are implemented in existing and new applications. Registration will be available shortly.
Women were active participants in building and programming the first electronic digital computers, and notably prominent in the first generation of computer programmers in the 1950s, but they have faced serious barriers to full participation in the computing professions.
